Jan, born in 1950 in Gothenburg, Sweden, currently resides part-time in Israel and Sweden. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in economics, Jan retired from international trading in metals and minerals.
In the realm of bridge, he has a rich history, having served as the vice president of the Swedish Bridge Federation, fulfilling roles as the national team selector and captain.
Jan’s involvement extends to the European Bridge League, where he served as a board member from 2010 to 2022 and assumed the role of president from 2019 to 2022. Continuing his contributions, he became the President of the World Bridge Federation from 2023 onwards.
In his achievements on the bridge table, Jan was the Swedish Bridge Teams champion in 2010 and achieved runner-up positions in 2011 and 2012. His prowess is further highlighted by winning the Cavendish Bridge Teams in 2013.
