Carlo A. Bordini was born in Reggio Calabria (Italy) on 27th August 1973.
Married, Civil Engineer, he moved to Milan for work in 2002 and lived there till 2007. Then he moved to Trieste in 2008 and still lives and works there in Engineering Headquarters.
Author of the book “Federazione Italiana Dama: Una Storia tra Dame e Pedine” (Italian Draughts Federation: A Story between kings and Pieces) and other sport and technical articles.
Carlo started playing draughts at 13, in 1987 became a Junior Champion in the Italian Draughts System, and then a master in that speciality.
At 18 he became a Draughts Trainer, and his players obtained several successes in Italian Championships and at School Youth Games.
National Referee, in 2001 he became a Member of FID National Board.
In 2002 he was re-elected as a member of FID National Board and then took the charge of FID Vice-president till 2016.
Since 2015, he has been Vice-president of WCDF (the World Confederation of Checkers/Draughts, English speciality).
In 2016, he was elected President of FID (the Italian Draughts Federation), whose Headquarters are located at the Italian National Olympic Committee building in Rome.
In 2016, he was awarded the Golden Star for Sporting Merits by the Italian National Olympic Committee.
Both in 2020 and 2024 he was re-elected President of FID.
In 2024, as FID President, honoured to celebrate the 100th FID anniversary from its foundation.
in 2019 elected and in 2023 re-elected President of the European Draughts Confederation, unanimously.
From 2023 he has been a Member of FMJD (the World Draughts Federation) Full Council.
Since September 2025 Board Member of the National Coach’s Commission of the Italian National Olympic Committee.
Since the FMJD General Assembly 2024, he has been elected International Relations Manager.
