The European Championship was held on 20–27 July at the European Go Congress in Warsaw. As usual, it brought together 32 of the strongest European players, who fought first in a double-elimination system and then in a knockout format starting from the quarter-finals.
Mateusz Surma 3p remained undefeated and claimed his first European Championship. He beat Valerii Krushelnytskyi 7d in the final. In the match for 3rd place, Artem Kachanovskyi 3p defeated Stanislaw Frejlak 1p.
